The popular Shrader CAMMED Idle tune is available for your 2018-2023 Mustang GT with any tuning purchase. This special tune gives the car a unique cam lope when idling, which gives it that signature sound that people have come to expect from a performance Mustang. Using the variable cam technology of the 5.0 Coyote engine, we are able to move the camshafts in a more favorable position for cam lope. This change to the programming of the PCM will not affect normal driving performance, and is not active during WOT (wide open throttle) performance. It is only active in off-throttle engine idle situations. This feature does NOT hurt your catalytic converters because with our tune, your Oxygen sensors are always correcting the air/fuel mixture for a perfect burn. This means that the fuel burnt in the combustion process has already been corrected for any variances, and is coming through your exhaust manifolds at the correct stoich value. These tunes are completely safe for OEM cats or aftermarket cats. There are myths that the Ghost Cam tunes can “burn up” cats, but this is not true if the tune is setup properly.
Your tuning purchase from Shrader will include two (2) tune files designed for use with premium gasoline. The first tune will be our performance tune designed for 91-93 octane for a normal idle, and the other will be with the Cammed Idle feature (if you have chosen to add that feature during checkout).
PERFORMANCE We have done extensive research on our Dynojet to come up with the most power and torque, without compromising or risking the health of the engine. Making the most power is also directly related to your fuel octane quality. Pump gas can have varying octane levels depending on where you purchase.
You can switch between the tunes at any time from within your SCT programmer. An SCT handheld programmer is required in order to use our tunes. This includes the X4, BDX, Rev-X, Livewire, etc. If you already have a programmer, we will send the files to you by e-mail and you can download it into the device yourself. Once we have your tune files completed, we send you the instructions by email for loading the files from your computer.
All tuning is developed in-house by Shrader Performance using SCT software. We do not use HP Tuners or nGauge for these tunes. NGauge is now out of business and no longer supported.
Any small aftermarket upgrades made to the car after your tuning purchase, such as cold air intake, long tube headers, etc, will require a tuning update, which we provide at no charge up to 3 months after your purchase (up to 2 small changes). After that period, there will be a $59 change fee for tuning updates. The same device serial number must be used from your original purchase.
This order page is only for the naturally aspirated Coyote engines. We also have tuning options for E85 ethanol as well. You can add the E85 option in the order dropdown above, or if you need to add E85 tunes to your existing gasoline tunes, go to our E85 Ethanol Tuning Adder page to purchase an E85 tune in addition to your existing Shrader tunes.
Turnaround time is typically 24-48 hours from the time we receive your order and any additional info needed such as device serial number and ECU strategy. We do work limited hours on weekends but give us up to 2 business days to complete your order. If you order on Friday night, don’t expect it to be completed by Saturday although it’s possible it could be if we are available. We will work as fast as possible to get your tunes to you but we are human and have to sleep, eat, spend time with family, and process other customer requests. Thank you for your patience.
CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, Special Note: Due to strict EPA laws and regulations, we do not support the deletion of cats or other emissions components. If you have a check engine light due to emissions components deleted or modified, our tune will not turn out your Check Engine Light or delete codes, however your car will still receive the performance gains of the tune. And on a personal note, deleting your cats doesn’t add any significant power and makes your car smell like a trash can. Keep the cats.

There are NO returns on SCT programmers once they have been opened and used on the vehicle. Once they have been used to flash a vehicle, the flash count will no longer show 0, and cannot be returned to us. NO returns are allowed on our Digital tune files. By the nature of digital files, you cannot return a file, and this is to prevent malicious use of our tunes, and then trying to recapture the funds. We will work with you to resolve any issues you may have, but returns are not an option for custom tunes.
